ABOUT THIS POLICY
Concert Crimes is a satirical concert-etiquette website operated by We Community Corporation in British Columbia, Canada.
This Privacy Policy explains how Concert Crimes collects, uses, discloses, stores and protects personal information when you visit concertcrimes.com, submit content, comment or vote, take the Stop Concert Crimes Pledge, access your pledge dashboard, use referrals, submit social-media information, appear in rankings, contact us or inquire about advertising.
In this policy, “Concert Crimes,” “we,” “us” and “our” refer to We Community Corporation and the Concert Crimes website.
PERSONAL INFORMATION WE COLLECT
The information we collect depends on how you use the website. When you take the Stop Concert Crimes Pledge, we may collect email address, display name, city, country, province, territory or state where applicable, pledge number, verification status, referral code and referral relationship, current pledge level, number of verified people recruited through your link, favourite artist if voluntarily provided after verification, and dates associated with your pledge, verification, referrals and dashboard activity. After your pledge is verified, you may choose whether eligible profile information appears publicly, whether Concert Crimes may recognize your submitted social handle, and whether you receive optional campaign updates.
You do not need to provide social-media handles to take the pledge. Favourite Artist is optional and is not displayed publicly by default.
PUBLIC PROFILE AND LEADERBOARD INFORMATION
When you expressly enable public-profile visibility, we may display some of the following: display name, pledge number, pledge level, verified referral total, city, province/state or country, voluntarily submitted social-media handle, and position on a public leaderboard.
Your email address is not displayed publicly. You may turn public-profile visibility off through your secure pledge dashboard.
SOCIAL RECOGNITION
When you expressly enable social recognition, Concert Crimes may mention or tag the social-media handle you voluntarily submitted in connection with pledge milestones, rankings, level achievements, recruitment achievements, Concert Crimes social posts or other community recognition.
Providing a social-media handle does not automatically authorize public recognition. Social recognition requires a separate preference. You may withdraw this preference through your dashboard.
CONCERT CRIME SUBMISSIONS AND COMMENTS
When you submit a concert crime or comment, we may collect the name or display name you provide, email address when requested, submission or comment content, associated post or rule information, moderation status, and limited technical information used to prevent spam or abuse.
Do not submit private identifying information about another person, including full names, contact information, medical information, precise locations or other identifying details.
We may edit, reject, anonymize or remove submissions containing personal information, harassment, unlawful material or content inconsistent with the purpose of the website.
VOTING
When you vote on content, we may use limited technical identifiers, cookies, browser storage or privacy-conscious hashes to reduce repeated voting and abuse. Anonymous voting is a low-stakes community feature and is not intended to establish verified identity.
COMMUNICATIONS
When you contact us, we may collect name, email address, organization or brand, message, advertising inquiry information, and other information you voluntarily provide. Advertising inquiries may be sent to advertise@concertcrimes.com. General and privacy inquiries may be sent to hello@concertcrimes.com.
AUTOMATICALLY COLLECTED TECHNICAL INFORMATION
Our hosting provider, WordPress, caching services, security tools, analytics tools or advertising services may process information such as IP address, browser and device type, operating system, referring page, pages viewed, date and time of access, approximate region, cookie identifiers, error and security logs, and interactions with website features.
We seek to limit retention and use of this information to what is reasonably necessary for security, functionality, analytics, advertising and legal compliance.
HOW WE USE PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may use personal information to receive and verify pledges, assign unique pledge numbers, provide secure dashboard access, create personalized pledge graphics, operate referrals and level progression, calculate public and regional pledge totals, operate leaderboards, display public profiles when authorized, provide social recognition when authorized, send verification and secure-access emails, understand aggregate artist interests among pledge holders, inform future artist, venue or fan-community outreach, improve campaign planning, respond to inquiries, moderate submissions and comments, prevent spam, abuse, fraud and repeated voting, maintain website security, troubleshoot technical problems, understand website performance, manage advertising relationships, comply with legal obligations, and protect the rights, safety and integrity of Concert Crimes and its users.
We do not use dashboard tokens, verification tokens or session identifiers for advertising.
CONSENT AND YOUR CHOICES
We request consent at or before personal information is collected, used or disclosed, except where consent is not required or is otherwise permitted by law.
Public-profile visibility is optional and is offered after pledge verification. It is not enabled unless you affirmatively choose it. Social recognition is optional and separate from public-profile visibility. Marketing communications are optional and separate from taking the pledge, verification, dashboard access, public-profile visibility and social recognition.
You may change available privacy preferences through your secure pledge dashboard or contact hello@concertcrimes.com.
Withdrawal of consent does not affect uses or disclosures already lawfully completed. Some information may need to be retained where required for legal, security, fraud-prevention, dispute-resolution or recordkeeping purposes.
INFORMATION DISPLAYED PUBLICLY
Depending on your choices, public information may include pledge number, display name, general location, pledge level, referral total, leaderboard position, social-media handle, and content submitted for publication.
We do not intentionally publish email addresses, secure dashboard links, verification tokens, access tokens, session identifiers, email-delivery or suppression status, or private administrative notes.
Personalized pledge graphics may contain the pledge number, pledge level, current global pledge count and Concert Crimes branding. They do not contain email addresses or secure dashboard credentials. Once you download or share a graphic, its further use is controlled by you and the platform where it is posted.
REFERRALS
Each verified pledge may receive a referral link. When another person uses that link and verifies their pledge, we may record the referral relationship and update the referring pledge holder’s recruit count and level. We do not disclose the referred person’s email address to the referrer. Public displays may show aggregate recruit totals where public-profile visibility is enabled.
GEOGRAPHIC INFORMATION
We may use city, country, province, territory or state information to calculate regional participation, display local leaderboards, measure milestone progress, show aggregate regional totals and determine which areas are represented. We do not request a street address for the pledge.
Aggregate geographic information may be used even when an individual profile is private, provided the individual is not identified. Where a region has very few participants, we may limit detail to reduce identification risk.
COOKIES AND SIMILAR TECHNOLOGIES
Concert Crimes may use cookies, browser storage and similar technologies for secure pledge-dashboard sessions, saving preferences, preventing duplicate voting, rate limiting and abuse prevention, caching and performance, analytics, advertising, and maintaining website functionality.
The secure pledge-session cookie is intended to be HttpOnly, Secure when transmitted over HTTPS, SameSite protected, short-lived and inaccessible to ordinary website JavaScript. Blocking essential cookies may prevent secure dashboard access or other functionality.
ANALYTICS AND ADVERTISING
We may use analytics tools to understand general website traffic and feature usage. Where advertising services such as Google AdSense or another provider are enabled, those providers may use cookies or similar technologies in accordance with their own privacy policies and consent requirements.
Concert Crimes house ads are internal promotional graphics and do not necessarily involve third-party tracking. We do not sell pledge email addresses or private pledge-dashboard information to advertisers. Advertisers do not receive access to individual pledge-holder information unless you separately and expressly authorize it.
SERVICE PROVIDERS
We may use service providers to host, secure, operate and communicate through the website, including Hostinger or another hosting provider, WordPress and installed plugins, Resend for pledge-related email delivery, FluentSMTP for email configuration and routing, caching or content-delivery services, security and spam-prevention services, analytics providers, advertising providers, professional advisers and technical contractors.
Service providers may process personal information only as needed to provide services to us, subject to their agreements, privacy practices and applicable law. Information may be processed or stored outside British Columbia or Canada and may be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
DISCLOSURE OF PERSONAL INFORMATION
We may disclose personal information with your consent, to service providers supporting the website, to investigate abuse, fraud, security incidents or unlawful activity, where required by law or lawful authority, to protect the rights, safety or property of Concert Crimes, users or others, in connection with a corporate transaction subject to appropriate safeguards, and as otherwise permitted by law. We do not sell personal information.
INFORMATION SECURITY
We use administrative, technical and organizational safeguards appropriate to the information, including HTTPS, access controls, administrator capability checks, secure dashboard sessions, hashed verification and access credentials, limited token lifetimes, nonces and request validation, rate limiting, spam controls, email-webhook signature verification, restricted administrative access, backups and security monitoring.
No internet service can guarantee absolute security. Do not share pledge-access emails, dashboard cookies, verification links or private access links. Contact us promptly if you believe your pledge dashboard or information has been accessed without authorization.
RETENTION
We retain personal information only as long as reasonably necessary for the purposes described in this policy or as required by law. Retention periods vary by information type.
Examples include active pledge records retained while the pledge remains active, verification and access tokens retained until expiry, use or scheduled cleanup, dashboard sessions retained for a short period, referral records retained while needed for progression and rankings, comments and submissions retained while published, moderated or needed for records, delivery and webhook records retained for troubleshooting, suppression and security, advertising correspondence retained for business administration, and security logs retained for a limited period appropriate to investigating abuse.
When information is no longer required, we may delete, anonymize or securely dispose of it.
ACCESS, CORRECTION AND DELETION
Subject to applicable law, you may request access to personal information held about you, correction of inaccurate information, information about how your data has been used or disclosed, withdrawal of optional consent, deletion of your pledge or associated information, and assistance changing privacy settings.
Some requests may require identity verification. We may retain limited information where required for legal, fraud-prevention, security, recordkeeping or dispute-resolution purposes. Send requests to hello@concertcrimes.com. Do not email a password, dashboard cookie or secure token.
DATA BREACHES
If a security incident involving personal information occurs, we will investigate and take reasonable steps to contain and address it. Where required by applicable law, we will notify affected individuals and the appropriate privacy authority.
LINKS AND THIRD-PARTY PLATFORMS
Concert Crimes may link to social platforms, artist or venue websites, advertisers, sponsors and other third-party services. We do not control third-party privacy practices. When you share a pledge graphic or follow an external link, the third party’s terms and privacy policy apply.
CHILDREN AND YOUNG PEOPLE
Concert Crimes is intended for a general live-music audience and is not designed to knowingly collect unnecessary personal information from children. Young people should use the website with the involvement of a parent or guardian where appropriate. Contact us if you believe a child submitted information that should be reviewed or removed.
INTERNATIONAL VISITORS
Concert Crimes is operated from British Columbia, Canada. Visitors outside Canada may have additional privacy rights under the laws of their jurisdiction. To request access, correction, deletion, restriction or another applicable right, contact hello@concertcrimes.com.
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy to reflect website changes, new features, service-provider changes, legal requirements or changes to our privacy practices. The latest version will appear on this page with the updated date. Material changes may also be communicated through the website or another appropriate method.
